I am wondering if it will harm my amp if I play my ipod or computer thru my amp at low volumes, I know its cheap of me, but its either that or buy my sister some kind of music player that is loud enough for her wedding reception out doors..

OR, you could not be retarded.

Just get a 1/8 inch to 1/4 cable. And plug it in the input.

It wont sound the best though.

I've always wondered this,
I play my ipod through my MG using an 1/8th to a 1/4 lead
Does it do any harm to the amp or the speakers?
ignore the fact its an MG, just amps in general

And i've finaly just ordered my new amp and sold the MG

ok so I assume its not too bad then...

It doesn't sound that good
But i just stuck the treble up, and bass 1/4 of the way, and it sounded okay
I used it for a party i had in my garden, sort of a rave, so had to have some big speakers, amp still worked fine afterwards,
I cnt see why it would damage it, but you never know

I would never play an ipod thru my AC30, that much I know. It won't sound so hot, anyway, but if it's cranked too loud, it could damage your speakers.

A PA, a bass amp, or a keyboard amp, I could be on board with. It's not good for a guitar amp.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.

IF you want a cheap solution, go with what Slats said; rent a keyboard, bass or PA amp. Keyboard or Bass amp will likely by the cheapest. I would go with the bass amp, simply because it will also be quiet.
