So the guitar tech at the local music store and myself are trying to get a certain mod that I want to have to work proporly. Basically I want series switching in the guitar and a push/pull on the tone knob. When the switch is down than everything is normal, but when you pull it up the 5-way positions look like this...

Position 1 - Bridge + Middle in Series
Position 2 - Bridge Single Coil
Position 3 - Bridge + Neck in Series
Position 4 - Neck Single Coil
Position 5 - Neck + Middle in Series

w/ the tone knows functioning accordingly (with the 2nd tone connected to the bridge pickup only, and the 1st tone to the neck only) So the Bridge tone would function in positions 1-3 and the neck in positions 3-5.

IN SHORT, IS THIS POSSIBLE?? I think it is, but I need someone who knows their way with a Strat to help me out.

Here are some sites that have led me to beilieve that this is possible.

Thanks a million,

This is exactly what you are describing, but you do need a super switch

Let me know if you get it to work, it sounds like a great idea.

Edit: That diagram has the tone pots wired differently than normal, but it says you can leave them normal and switch the middle to the bridge.

I have to say that that has completely confused me, but thanks anyways, i'll pass it along.

Yeah, I can't really understand it either, and I was hoping that you/the tech could figure it out and maybe clarify it. It does claim to do exactly what you described though.
Good luck.
