I'm considering buying a Seymour Duncan Livewire Metal LW-HMET set:

The JB/59 combo in my Jackson DK2M is decent enough, but it really lacks in the output department.

What I'm wondering is how closely these resemble the SD Dave Mustaine Livewire set in terms of sound... and how the installation goes.

They don't really resemble Dave's pickups other than the fact they're active. They have sh*tloads of midrange and output. I actually think they're the hottest pickups ever made, no joke. The Dave Mustaine actives are pretty much the same as the JB and 59 only with more output.

No, the Blackouts and Livewire Metals are two totally different tonalities.
