i have a ts-9 but i want another one. im at school right now so cant really try one out but ill be at home in 2 days so im planning on buying one at GC while im home.

once i get my second one i plan on using my current one strictly as a boost. the second one will be used as a second boost (hey, why not ) and also use it as a regular OD dirt.

I play write alot of things along the lines of circa survive stuff and minus the bear things and also play blues, rock, and metal

can anyone suggest me one? lets keep it under 150

thanks in advance!

Why not just get a clean boost?

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?

Well I'm using a BBE Green Screamer as my OD. I'd recommend it.

Bad Monkey.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

I own one, along with a TS-9 (which I actually got rid ofter buying the Bad Monkey). The Bad Monkey is far warmer, fatter, and more versatile.

Well, it's pretty much going for the same sound as a tubescreamer, but with true bypass.

i disagree. i thought the exact opposite. but each to his own.

and as for the ocd, its pretty pricey. but i guess only 10 bucks more. they probably wont have them at GC anyway and id really like to try before i buy.

Quick question, when youre TS9 is used as a gain boost, does it tighten up/smoothen the gain?

If you have the money, the OCD is fantastic. Obviously, you should be hesitant to buy anything without trying, but if you did buy it, you wouldn't be disappointed.

If you're only using it as a boost, I would actually recommend a Bad Monkey. Since you don't like it, i'll suggest you try a BBE Screamer

the ts-9 i currently have will be my boost. the new pedal that i will hopefully be purchasing will be used as a regular od and also a second boost just for ****s and giggles.

Well maybe buy something other than a TS so you don't get a huge EQ hump? Something like a Fulltone OCD?
#19
yea its pretty pricey and like i said before im pretty sure Guitar center nor the smaller shops near me dont have any that i could try out. if they do i will definately try it.
what about the maxon 808?

^ It works very well as a boost, the overdrive sounds pretty fizzy over 5 though, it's good for a boost.
#23
ic. i guess ill have to look for one. its either that or im just going to get another tubescreamer haha.
