so im selling my JCM900 for a smaller amp since i rarely play wiht anyone, mainly myself. Im looking for a good amp for everything, blues to classic rock. I have a couple amps in mind but I would love to keep it under $600 used. I was thinking of alot of little amps, but which is the best?

Classic 30
palomino V-series
Blackheart (15 watt one)
blues junior
ok maybe im not going to list all the ones im thinking, but you know the typical small amp thread.

My Peavey bandit is good for blues/ rock. I'll trade it straight up for your JCM 900.

Umm... ;\\

anyway; I've heard nothing bad about the Blackheart.

If you wanted to spend more, I've never tried it but sounds great from YouTube,

Orange Tiny Terror with a 1x12 cab.

In all seriousness, the Blues Junior isn't bad, some dude had that and I've heard it alot. You will need pedals in front of it though.

Definitely a Classic 30 or a Traynor 50 (40 or 20 for lower volume). But try them out. I wouldn't get the other one just because the Peavey and Traynor are just better than those other ones for you need and they are portable but enough to jam and gig with

I really thought about it, but i couldnt really stretch my budget past maybe 700ish. but that would only be if i got a great deal on a great amp.

i wont be gigging, i barely jam with anyone. i play for personal enjoyment not to show anyone. there isnt a place to try traynors here. i think i might be able to try one next time i go to nashville, but idk when that will be

TO TR3NT:

i havent seen any for $400 but last i looked was almost a year ago. i was gonna go ebay. mmmmm i think i may go orange. because oranges sound sexxi!

If you play by yourself then i would recommend looking at the Blackheart head + a better cab because i don't like the one they have, i would probably get a Celestion Seventy 80 or Vintage 30.

Well its cheaper for one, lower volume 5 watt which can be switch to 3 watt for personal uses which is not enough to jam or gig with without mic but that doesn't matter to you. However, thats all i can tell you because i haven't played the Tiny Teror, i got no one here to sell the product.

But the Blackheart was amazing, great clean and distortion, and with a good OD you can go metal

If you're not going heavier than GNR/ACDC, then greenbacks are quite good.

excellent, i wont need it for anything heavier than indie rock. heaviest would be sick puppies. any other speaker suggestions? should i just buy an empty cab then a greenback?

If you're going to get a 4x12, a good way to get an individual tone is to mix and match speakers. Just make sure that they all add up to the right ohmage etc. but I'm sure you're already clued up on that (unlike i was when I fitted an 8Ohm speaker to a 16 Ohm amp).

I noticed you said you play indie rock - how does the 900 cover that out of curiosity? Im looking into getting a 900, and was wondering how well it would cover indie Cheers for any help

Not well. It's relatively high gain. I think Zakk Wylde uses one. Look into Vox AC30 and those 18w marshalls.

ACDC: well idk then. ill try one out if i can find one.

zwound: Zakk Wylde didnt use a 900. he used a modded 800 and another marshall (name slipped my mind) . the 18w marshalls are like mini clones of Zakks amp. The 900 is too modern for BLS or anything else. 900 does the indie thing pretty good, not as well as an AC30 though
