Ummm... Just get a real bass?

I dunno, if its possible, it sounds like it'd be a crapload of work.
I would assume it would need a new neck, pickups, bridge, etc.

possible... yes... cheap... no

reasons...
1) balance=WAY OFF for bass...
2)lots of wood filler.
3) new bass is cheaper.

it wouldnt be work it, you would have to get a whole different scale neck and bridge to make it work.

Short answer is no. Its a little more complicated than just putting bass strings on it.

Well if your ready to change all the hardware, either re do the head stock from 6 to 4 holes or change the neck, re finish it and then still have it break as soon as you string it up, I say go for it...

You either change the neck or the headstock. Not both. Changing the neck would negate getting the headstock changed.
