Every day when my mom drives me home from school and she's always listening to this crappy disco/oldies rnb station and occasionally during a few a of the poppy song numbers one of them will have a cool guitar solo.

ever heard of bone thugs n' harmony? on there debut EP creepin on a come up, there is an instrumental called mo' cheese, that has two acoustic guitar and two electric guitar solos. they aren't really crazy or hard, but they are pretty cool. and u got it bad from usher has a decent guitar solo at the end of it. marshall mathers from eminem has a neat little acoustic hook throughout the song.

Some rapper had the riff of Crazy Train in his song. My friend was humming that tune one day and I remarked "whoa, how do you know Crazy Train?" He responded with "Crazy Train? What's that? This is *insert song name here*."

April 21st, 1992 by Sublime had a cool guitar solo. You can easily say that's not rap, though.

Yeah, rap groups sample other songs all the time. Puff daddy (or whatever he goes by now) did that one softer song and used the guitar part of "Every Breathe You Take" by The Police. And he also teamed up with Jimmy Paige and used the riff from Kashmir.

One of my biggest "false hope" songs is "Stronger" by Kanye West. "Harder Better Faster Stronger " by Daft Punk is one of my favorite songs, and Kanye West is absolutely horrible at rapping.

This song by Scribe and P-Money called "Stop the Music" has a great solo in it at the end. Too bad the radio edit faded it out after about 10 seconds... It goes for a good minute or so in the full version.

Maria Maria has some cool licks, and is considered a 'guitar classic' in the hiphop world? I mean come on! It has Santana playing it!

Beastie Boys used to be a hardcore punk band actually, and even played with Green Gang, Minor Threat and Dead Kennedys.

EDIT: To top that, there a few hardcore punk bands with hip hop influences which are fairly awesome.
