What string gauge do you use, and what tuning do you play in mostly? I use 10-52, and right now I'm in C-standard.
#5
9-42 but gona change to 10-52 tomorow.

i change tunings all the time so the hybrid set will do me good.

Actually, I play limited jazz, some blues but mainly rock and metal of all sorts. I've used them for a while and my hands have simply adapted to the added resistance, I guess.

.13's and I use standard tuning most of the time, it's a fantastic way to go.

Do we have a jazz man in the house?

I use primarily 11-52s and might sometimes fluctuate to a 10-49 or a 12-56. Eb standard and Open G or F# for me

9 to 42 FTW.

Works well with a slim neck IMO.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

i use 10-46 on hardtail guitars with a typical 24.75" or 25.5" scale length. For guitars with tremolos i use 9-42 gauge, as they allow me to bend the strings with less detuning of the other strings. on shorter scale guitars i use 11-48 or even 12-56 if the 11-48's are too loose. i use 8-40s on 12-strings.

I can't remember what i use for acoustics but i think it was just a set of rotosound .12 gauge... dunno what the thickness of the bottom string is.

the tunings i use are E standard (and drop D), Eb Standard (and drop Db), Open E, open G and DADGAD, although thats on acoustic.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

I use the old boomers, 10-70 or something. I'm in drop b and a# usually so the chords are still good soundng and solos are easy. and yes, it is a 70 on top.

dean merkley 'regulars' (10's) are what i have on now. I quite like them. would like a little more resistance, but idk if im ready for 11's.

Am I the only one who uses 8s lol?

I'm thinking about slowly working up to a heavy gauge to work up my fingers a bit, and then dropping back down to 8s so I can speed through.
