say in a V/V - I prog in the key of C the leading tone F# would resolve to G right? But in a V7/V - V - I prog the F# doesn't need to resolve and only the B of the V chord correct? thx in advance

A V/V - I in C, in four voices, I'd resolve something like this:

B.T..A...S

D.D.F#.A......V/V to
C.E.G...C.......I

I'm not familiar with that as a common progression, but if you use root positions the A has to go up to C to avoid parallels.

V7/V - V - I I might do

B.T..A...S

A.D.F#.C....V4/3 / V
G.D.G...B....V
C.E.G...C ...I

sorry for the awkward writing, I'm more used to working these out on a staff. Not sure if I understand your questions about resolution.
