So far away we wait for the day
For the light source so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on!... oh, wait XD

In all seriousness, though, just write about something in your lives. If you're not having a bad breakup with someone, there's no point to writing a breakup song, do you get what I mean? Write about what's important to you.

I tend to think most lyrics are corny anyway, but that's just me.

not all songs are corny.

the best way to write lyrics in your genre is to be cleverly metaphorical.

Take...Brand New for instance.
They corner the market on clever lyrics. (IMO)

From 70 X 7:

Is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with.
'Cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish.
Seen more guts in eleven year old kids.

It's cleverly metaphorical.
Try that.

yes. all songs are corny. the lyrics dont matter at all. they're only there to take up space.

no. write about things that are important to you and dont force it. if you force your writing, you'll look back at it one day and itll look stupid. inspiration is important
