Hey, I was wondering if anybody can help me out with some suggestions. I want to get a small to medium size tube amp for practicing, jamming or even small gigs. Unfortunately i don't know much about tube amps. Anybody have any suggestions? I have a ESP F-50 but I'm saving for a Gibson mahogany worn Les Paul so that'll probably be my main axe in the future. I play mainly rock, blues, and metal/hardcore once in awhile.

get a cheap marshall... my MG15DFX has a button that simulates the sound of one of the expensive tube marshall amps.

Traynor YCV 40 or 50.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.

I'd say a used Marshall DSL401 with a speaker change would be a good fit. It'll be able to handle metal and hardcore loads better than the Classic 30.

b52 at112 would do hardcore and metalcore better than a dsl for similar money, imo
