This is purely based on the shape of the guitar, and NOT on specifications or company preferences.

If the X shape isn't your cup of tea, great, but a post saying so is entirely pointless.

Jackson Warrior

Ibanez Xiphos

Dean Razorback

B.C. Rich Stealth

B.C. Rich Ironbird

B.C. Rich Warlock For those of you not familiar

B.C. Rich Beast

I like the Warrior and the Stealth most.

Where the bloody **** is the Gibson Explorer?

I wouldn't call that an 'X' shape. Plus I would've had to add the Jackson Kelly and the ESP shapes too.

I wasn't aware of the existence of the Charvel

Although having googled it, it wouldn't have changed my decision, personally.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I'm surprised the razorback's winning. I think they're a little over the top...

Stealth! The original (as far as I know) and the best.

IIRC the order of design is:

Ibanez Axstar > BC Rich Stealth > Jackson Warrior > Ibanez Xiphos.

The Axtar isn't that pretty though, and its no longer in production either.

Personally I think Razorbacks can be pretty good. I'd take the standard Xiphos over the Warrior, since its neck-thru and mahogany. Whereas the WRXT is bolt on and alder or basswood(?) And the next model up from that is pretty expensive.

The original ones are the Dean ML and the Charvel Star.

Which aren't there at all.

Dean ML ftw!
what happened to the proposed Kirk Hammett flamenco album?

His acoustic didn't sound good with wah pedal, I suppose.

I would say the Xiphos or Warrior (though I voted for Xiphos), there others aren't really that "x" shaped, apart from the stealth, but that's just horrible...

Yep. The ML predates the Star. The Star has nothing to do with the ML though, and is much closer to the Axstar/Stealth/etc. There is also the Jackson Kelly Star...
#34
Out of those I would say the Dean Razorback.

this is the shape for my custom guitar:
(Invalid img)
its a iron bird but if you look closely the front fins are more of a rhoads shape

My choice is either the razorback or ironbird
