does anyone understand this..

obert makes that trap with his own blood and all of those counter weights to catch one of the darkseekers, right...

how is it that they used that doll from the movie store... the darkseekers showed no signs of intelligence?

1. how would they know that that doll was robert's "freind"?
2. since they have no basically no intelligence, how would they set an eliberate trap using counterweights and cables

and also..

WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE IF YOU WERE IN ROBERT'S POSITION?????

i would have taken a house boat into the ocean every night and came back for supplies and what not by day....

I WAS planning to say something sarcastic, but seeing as the last part of your post wasn't completely pointless... I'll have to agree with you. The boat in the ocean is a very cool idea.

what if the darkseekers could swim? then you'd be double screwed if you were on a boat
#6
i would kill myself. in the end, he got saved, but that was three years. i would just see no point in living by myself.
#7
The Darkseekers made the trap? I thought the other guys did. I didn't watch the whole thing though, it got very boring when Will met those other people and I gave up lol.
#8
i think they were starting to show signs of intelligence, and compassion and what not. that's why the bossman exposed himself to the sun, compassion, not stupidity.

i have another theory though, the dog went out at night and moved the doll, and set the traps!

I don't recall anything about the darkseekers becoming unintelligent...
Darkseekers obviously observed a lot from the darkness, so they probably noticed the robert communicated alot with the doll.

i dont think they could...

the part with the flashback of when his wife and daughter died,
they blew up the bridge, which basically pointed out that they couldnt swim

but yea... that would so suck if they could...

Remember after sammy when inside that dark place? After he came back out the other seeker came out of door and stood in the sun for a few seconds, then ran back inside. He even said it when he got back to the lab

Very true, however realistically it would make more sense. Of course I wouldn't watch a movie where a guy sleeps in a boat to escape zombies, wth?

EDIT: It was a trap set by that big guy zombie, if you followed the plot they got like survival-wise smarter as the disease kicked in more.

wait....what teh **** are you talking about?

the lame movie or some even lamer song?
Looking for a new sig!

you have a point, but how would they know how to rig a trap with counterweights and cables...?

i believe that whole seen was just a way to kill the dog...

They haven't lost intelligence, they just became extremely violent and aggressive. Remember, the people were raised and educated before becoming infected. The "leader" saw Robert's trap, he was in the doorway, remember? Now, if the infected can live in the dark, they probably lurk in the empty buildings in the day, watching Robert's every move. Most buildings have tinted glass or have been boarded up, like the one Robert saves his dog from in the beginning. So it wouldn't be crazy to think that the infected follow him by going through the buildings. They just aren't fast enough to follow him by car.

Now, I had to boat idea, but it would have to be more complex.

-He must venture VERY far into the ocean. The infected are faster and stronger than Robert because they rely on feral instinct. So, they could probably swim very far.

-He would need a boat with fortified walls and deck, with multiple light sources on it .
It would have to be impossible for the infected to climb on.

- He could set up decoy boats in near the bay to keep the infected guessing.

-How would he manage his lab? He needs his lab as a safehouse and research center. So he would need a super yacht, which is unrealistic.

-He could of lived peacefully if he didn't fall for the trap and avenge his dog's death, but being an idiot, he had to do it.

So, now, shall we discuss Cloverfield theory? I already have the tea boiling.

That cant be. Remember when he went looking for Sammy inside the building? All the infected were just huddled in a big group

If they were so intellegent surely they should have realised all they had to do was break into his house at night and kill him right? Or they could even wear a whole body suit so they could move around in the daylight.

they didnt know where he lived until everything got screwed up. and his house was very secure.

and if they wore suits....that would have been very unrealistic.

Actually, that's what I thought they were doing when Will Smith saw Fred.
I think it would have made the movie so much better if it had documented their gradual incline in intelligence.

They were hibernating. What do you think bats do during the day?
#31
Hahaha , maybe, but if they are smart enough to make complex traps surely they could put on some clothes, or is that a bit of a stretch?

If I were him I would supply myself better, and have better security, etc...
I mean, he is basicly the only man alive, and he has a super jeep, and he is a high-rank militant. He could easily with his status borrow some panzers and helicoters and heavy machinery...
Hell he could even steal those robots from "I robot" if he wanted....

And why the hell did he decide to stay in Manhattan, it is not the "best" city for surviving, and the desease alredy spread all across the world, and I don't think the infected in manhattan are better or more important than the ones all around the world (with the exception with the long-face one, but in the end he didn't matter because the cure wasn't extracted from him, but from a common woman).
#33
I'm sure he only stayed there to research the disease and try to cure it, not to survive.

Sleeping.
If they're sleeping during the day, then they wouldn't follow him around
But
Who says they need sleep?

Exactly. He had everything there. it would be impossible for him to move.
#39
I had also considered the possibility that maybe he set the trap up himself to catch the darkseekers but forgot about it. Maybe he was just loosing it mentally that bad.

Or maybe he had set the trap to catch the darkseekers and the darkseekers moved the dummy to catch him.

Who knows?
