ok well im in a extreme death metall band. im looking for the heaviest, meanest, highest gain distortion out there.
so far im interested in peavey 6505-5150's, randall's rh-rx-and g3 series, and marshall jvms.
which do you think would suite me better? my price range is under 1000. i think i could find a used peavey for that. any other suggestions?

For your situation, probably the Randall. 5150s are loaded with gain, but Randalls (from what I've experienced) are voiced and able to get a death/ core tone easier.
You can also get pedals to have your distortion just right.

Didn't you say that you had a stuffed fox that you would occasionally fuck?

ya, i just threw my MT-2 metal zone in front of my JCM900 and it pretty much turned my amp into a death metal amp..... so just get a good pedal.. not a MT-2 though, and pick the amp that you like the best for your base sound, then add to it.

also look at what your favrite death/core bands are using.
