My uncle gave me a car stereo system for my '98 Ford Escort, and I want to install it on my own, if I can.
There are no previous modifications to the radio, and the new one is a Pioneer (DEH-9 is the model name, I think).
If possible, post links to sites with pictures, please.

Step 1: take out old stereo.

Step 2: hook up new stereo exactly the same as the old stereo. it should only be like 3 wires that you have to splice.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

Go here for a wiring diagram of your car.

http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/845.html

And here for the radio diagram:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support/CarAudioVideo/ch.Source.Support

find the radio you have and click on the link for it. then scroll down the page a bit and click on a "documents" tab. on the following page, you should find the installation manual. hope this helps!
