A few weeks ago I saw two new ENGL models while browsing thomann. There was no info whatsoever on the site nor was there any on the ENGL at the time. Later I wet to the ENGL site again to see if they had posted any info and found that they had at least put pictures and a "new product 08" sign but no real info yet. Not on the news page. Not on the products page. Still haven't seen a thread about it so I thought I'd share although I suspect many of you know already.

EDIT:I Just saw someone already made a thread like this but in case anyone missed the last one (like I did). + I spent some time making this. + This one is better .

ENGL RAIDER 100
This one looks very interesting.
- Priced roughly the same as a Powerball.
- Two channel 6L6 combo.
- Celestion Vintage 30 speaker.
- 4x ECC preamp tubes.
- 4x 5881 Power tubes (?)
- Adjustable noice gate and many more tone controls than say a Fireball.

STEVE MORSE SIGNATURE 100
- Costs about as much as an Invader.
- Looks really cool .
- 4x 12AX7 Preamp tubes.
- 4x EL34 Poweramp tubes.
- 2 parallel FX Loops via Midi.

Discuss!

For the sound you are getting and the features they are pretty cheap over in europe, compared to other amps. Same as mesa/boogie been expensive over here as oposed to america.

^Yeah I got my Fireball for 990€ brand new which is not that expensive compared to other brands.

Raider sounds cool, my Screamer is producing a lot of awesome tone at 50w, so 100w can probably rip my ears off.

Imagine if the raider was a powerball combo

But, Orange amps are classic rock/blues rock/classy heavy metal whereas ENGL are basically Gain Whores.

cuz ppl hate how power metal they are cuz they think its "gay" or w.e, which is immature and dirogitory

^ok they do metal - but the rockerverb series has a fair amount more gain than the rocker series

jim root uses them - thats a pretty heavy sound dont you think?

100W amp with 1 V30 ? aren't the V30s rated at like 60W ..? looks like fun

The V30 is rated at 60w before it starts to distort. So crank it and you get speaker distortion basically.

I think its more hard rock when you tuned standard. The tuning makes quiet the difference.

Still nice sound tho
