I need to buy a cheap strat copy for a project i'm about to undertake. The electronics aren't important as they're all coming out. So which strat knock-off has the nicest neck?

there is something wrong with you that has nothing to do with that instrument you want to build.

Squier Standard (the neck is modeled after the Fender American Standard)....thin and fast! You may also want to check out www.rondomusic.com They have some VERRRY inexpensive Strat copies that are more than just decent!

Good luck with your project!

Squier Affinity with the Maple Neck.
I really liked the whole guitar, to be honest.
Great neck, not a bad body, not bad pickups either.
Quite nice.

I concur as much as I hate to admit it, the neck on my Affinity Strat is a little more comfortable to play, it has a thinner profile and a much more 'slippery' feel to the back of the neck, I still love my MIM more though.
I wish I had tallent and ability.

Squier Vintage Modified Strat, Black with laquered 70s neck
Farida FLP-26
Vox VT20+
Ampkit for iPod
Jamvox (not impressed)
