This is now a thread about surreal art, not 'that pear'

Thought I'd make a thread about this wonderful painting by 'ursulav' on deviant art (link).

So, what are your thoughts? Personally I think the texture of the whole piece is brilliant, it flows very well. The concept at this moment is a mystery to me, but then again, what surrealist concepts can anyone understand?

Well, have fun discussing!

(PS, I just lost the game)

I've never seen the original. This will probably be reported though, although it does lack the wording.

I think he wants to provoke a debate on the concepts of surrealism and fruits.

That's not a squirrel, it's a chipmunk.

It's usually edited away. Sadly enough.

This is truly a masterpiece, though. So mystic and surreal, we can probably never understand the idea behind it all!
I'm a communist. Really.

I think the concept could portray the way we witness nature.

The squirrel painting is a metaphor for the way they feast upon the fruit of the land, while we are trying to conserve it.

A conservational message maybe? Something along those lines perhaps.

Guys, what is this 'lol wut' of which you speak?

I hope you're kidding.

If not, its the same picture with the words LOL WUT at the bottom. Posting this picture on these forums gets you banned.

EDIT: yep he's joking.

I can't help feeling that if that picture hadn't been under the "surreal" category, you wouldn't even have known that the word "surreal" existed.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

Vikings? What Vikings? We are but poor, simple farmers. The village was burning when we got here, and the people must have slain themselves.

Yeah it's cool. But it will sadly go down in history as the LOLWUT pear.

It's very well drawn. Frankly, I find it to be a very interesting painting, even if I don't understand the meaning of it.

From what I understood, it's basically a tourist attraction of a fictional universe.

And if you thought you've seen it all...analyse this one

EDIT: Oh, it IS a tourist attraction. I didn't look at the artist's page before writing this.

Then you could have started a discussion on surrealism without attempting to attract controversy, flaming, spam etc, which you are clearly trying to do, since out of all the images in all the galleries, you chose *that* particular one.

Is there some connection?

I'm not sure, i guess not. Maybe they find much hilarity in this thread but then question their own lives as to what hilarity is...

This picture could have had so much potential if it hadn't fell victim to anonymous.

It's an interesting picture. It didn't deserve such a fate.

Obviously we're going to end up with some tards saying "lol wut" in this thread, but I'm interesting to see some serious interpretations of it.
