i was wondering if i take off a pickguard from a les paul will there be any damage to the guitar or the finish. will it leave a mark?
if it makes a difference the pickguard is clear.

What do you mean by damage? Like most pickguards there will be screw holes. For a lp pickguard there will be 2 screw holes. I would think the only damage will be the screw holes and if your changing the pickguard, then the screws should be covered by the screws.

damged meaning, is the finish underneath the pickguard going to be funny looking(scratched, chipped etc.)
There should be do damge, unless there was already damage there. Although there will be two screw holes on your guitar.
