i nicked the title off of a book by cs lewis, the first few lines are my interperation of a quote from it. tell me what you think.

the problem of pain.

Verse 1
whispered to us abstract pleasures,
conspiring in their conscience,
still now feel our earthly pressures,
commencing death of innocence,
from this see unquestioned mercy,
as spilled forth from our souls grievance,
come to see it now so clearly,
in our blind, blunt benevolence.

Chorus:
And I know, its only shadows,
but I cant force It behind me,
vivid thoughts complete darkness
screaming words of blasphemy.

Verse 2
Sifting through truth, lies and curses,
leave me with thoughts of heresy,
We now fall from grace and truces,
and cast our luck onto the sea,
chastise, beat and tie them falsely,
forced down upon with casualties,
all stand still unchanging safeties,
in our blind, blunt malevolence.

Chorus:
And I know, its only shadows,
but I cant force It behind me,
vivid thoughts complete darkness
screaming words of blasphemy.

Bridge:
and I write you this my darling,
from my numb lips to this soft page,
from my fears they are still garbing,
covering with toxic sage,
and I still cant seem to answer,
the question of this day and age,
with this assault on faith with reason,
relinquishing this subtle rage.

Chorus:
And I know, its only shadows,
but I cant force It behind me,
vivid thoughts complete darkness
screaming words of blasphemy.

style wise i was thinking maybe acoustic with two guitars, one electric one acoustic. it would also sound good with distorted guitar and piano bass and drums.
