I went into my local pawn shop and fell in love with this guitar! The pawn shop sticker that was on it said D25-TS, but I couldn't find any information about that model anywhere online?! It sounds great and looks great!

He's asking $250 for it. I just want to make sure i'd be getting a decent deal.

Also, it has a "W" scribed in the heel of the neck on the back, and some other nice details as well.

EDIT: I think I found out. It's exactly what it says. It's a D25-S, with TS (Tobacco Sunburst) finish. It retailed new for $600-700 dollars. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger on this one!

(Sorry for the crappy phone pics)

Washburn seems to have a few "secret" models out, I have a 7-string that's supposed to be an X-37, but it's not. I can't find anything that looks like it on their website, or in existence, really, besides the guitar it's self.
We've drained full confession booths, polluted drinking wells with our repentances, and then stood grinning with our arms around the shoulder of a rotting child.

I'm trying to decide between this one and a D10S, and I'm pretty sure I'm going with this one. The pics really don't do it justice!

^--I have no experience with this guitar but if you are correct, and it is a $600-700 guitar than its sure to be better than a D10S.

I finally got the serial number. It's actually a 1995 and it retailed new for $500.

For some reason the D25's got up to $600-700 in 1997-1998 and they stopped making them in 2000.

I'm a little cautious about a 13 year old guitar, but it looks like it's brand new.

Don't be. Many guitars improve with age, and this one looks like its in good condition.

Grover tuners? Sexy.

ehem....where to begin....

you see i have a friend who works for washburn. so for all intents and purposes in this thread i will serve as their spokesman

A)the D10S>D25. The X40 and X50 are the same price and the X40 is better with more features. The D10S is their best acoustic, said so by 80% of the people my friend works with.

B)The secret models....they aren't exactly secret. They do custom jobs sometimes. Mods & etcetera. or sometimes the reason you can't find it on their website is they stop showing ones online that they aren't producing.

Fusanti...you seem quite knowledgable about Washburn's.

Can you tell me why the D10S is better than the D25? I'm going in a few hours to pick one of them up.

I ended up going with the Washburn D10-S. It's a beautiful guitar and plays well! Thanks for all the help!
