Hello everyone, at the moment I've got a 6-string Jackson Warrior downtuned to B standard. Basically, I was wondering if dedicated 7-string pickups make that much of a difference compared to 6-string pickups, at such a low tuning. Would an EMG 707 be worlds apart from the EMG 81-85s I'm using now?

dont do it. 1, the pickup wouldnt fit in your guitar unless you were to route it. and the 707 is meant for the B strings tension and clarity. there is no need for it. it wouldnt deepen your sound. it would only confuse your pickup. and a dent in your wallet.

basically 7 string pickups are made for 7 strings, and i dont think your using a baritone guitar right just dropping the tuning and using heavy strings? tisk tisk tisk id use a baritone. anyways 707 sounds alot diffrent then an 81 thats why emg makes a 81-7. and its kind of retarded to use 7 string pick ups on a 6 string
