so im on this website of schematics and was wondering what this north start/finish thing means when ur wiring a humbucker. anyone know?

Basically a humbucker consists of 2 magnets with opposing polarities, much like regular magnets have 2 sides that either attract or split apart when brought together....

The diagram you have there is for pickups with the north and south coils splittable for single coil style sounds....

If you're not using a coil split, you just wire them together, unless the pickups you're wiring are 2 wire, in which case you just get an output and a ground

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

North = coil closest to neck
South = coil closest to bridge
Start = Hot
Finish = Ground
