I'm not really planning on getting anything too soon so I don't have a set budget yet. I'm looking now so that I can plan for the future. I've been reading around the forums and see all sorts of stuff regarding which amps are good and which are bad but am not sure which would be right for me.

I like to play pretty much everything but focus mostly around classic rock. I was thinking of an amp that has some effects built into it (maybe like an acoustic effect or like a delay effect for example) and around the 30w range. (I dont really plan to gig so I dont need anything too powerful). I want one that can get a good crisp clean sound but then also pretty good distortion. I know I said I didn't have an exact budget, but im only a teenager, so please don't suggest anything that's like $1000.

Please let me know your thoughts on what I should look in to.

I tried a peavey classic 30 last weekend and it's perfect for me.

I play mostly classic rock too, but no built in effects except reverb.

$300 used at GC i believe, and $400 for a floormodel at samash. damn if it comes with a box im getting that thing

sounds like something he would like. I'd also look at Palomino v16's or V32's with an OD. If you can find it, look for a MIA used palomino. I'd also suggest a Valveking 112.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
