Ok I've played guitar for a while but only real basic stuff. Never gave much time to it but I am trying to get into it again now. A few of the songs I am interested in playing have Hammer-ons and Pull-offs in them. I read the Lesson on them on UG but was confused on how to do them in order. Like 11H14P11 would be only hitting the string once? Or would I hit it a second time in there somewhere?

Thanks for any help!

First you play the first note (11) then, while keeping that finger there, you hammer-on to the next note (14), then you pull back off to 11. You only play that string once. Hope that helped

basically you'll hit the string on the first 11, fret the 14th, and unfret back to the 11th without hitting the string again. In other words, you strum once for those 3 notes.

woah, that was fast... the page loads and there's your response, lol. (that's dial up for ya) Glad I could be of help. It's usually pretty easy, until you get into really fast, really complex ho/po's (points at metallica).

EDIT: Oh... that would be because someone beat me to the answer... again, blame dial up. grr
