I was wondering what MESA BOOGIE amp you guys think gives the BEST lead solo tone and is overall the most versatile. This has everything to do with YOUR opinion. ALTHOUGH, the "solos" I am talking about are basically in the ranges from Malmsteen to Vai to Satch. Although please DO NOT JUDGE THE AMPS BY THEIR "METAL" QUALITIES. Thank you!!!!

Hmm, The Laney GH50 has great leads for the price.

The soldano wins for me tho.

You have a budget? If not, Soldano SLO.

Amen.

If you need an added degree of versatility, look at the Decatone as well. It sports an additional channel that covers "slightly dirty" to "modified JCM800" for when you want to save the overdrive channel only for leads. It doesn't sound as good as an SLO though.

Why the sudden change to looking exclusively at Mesa? They have some fine amps, but I feel you are seriously limiting your options when there are so many other amps that will open up different possibilities.

yes!

especially when 3 people already have voted the Dual Rec. as a versatile amp, even for metal

i believe its versatility comes down to two things - on and off

^ u 2 have good points.
although I specifically made this so I could see what MESA amps people like the best. People keep telling me that Mesa's are great, and I want to know what everyone's opinion is.
