That's a very good possibility. The switch under the knobs could then be like a coiltap for the HB, or some other gizmo.

Then again, the first switch could be to turn on his TV, the second for the microwave, and so on...

Point being? You can wire switches into your guitar doing virtually anything, so identifying what they do by just looking at them can be tricky.

i mean the pete townshend lp has an inbuilt phase switch...it could be the same thing, just three different effects like phase, flange and trem?
or it could be a killswitch for each pick up...
or
it could be a combination of the two...
the one way to know, is to play with it.
