I'm trying to get the guitar tone from Arch Enemy's song Lament of a mortal soul. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get that tone? Like, pick-ups, amp, amp settings? Would string gauge have an effect on the tone? Michael Amott use's 11-59, which are pretty heavy. I really like that tone, please help.

As far as I know Amott has a signature ESP with JB/59 pickups and Krank amps. The other Amott used Caparison. But this information will probably be of little use to you.

Just get a nice tube amp and a decent guitar and you're fine.

Right after the first chorus, whenever he plays the main riff unpalm-muted, that tone. The only way I can describe it is it sounds like a belch.

settings thread

Funny how nobody ever replies to a "help"-type post in the Settings Thread.
Just more posts of "how... what pedal... etc..."...
Everyone says to post there and then no one gets helped.
I'm just saying...
