My trusty tortoise heavy pick had its tip snapped off this morning.

I cant believe it.

I thought this pick would be with me forever. Was only saying to myself the other day how beautiful he was with all his wear and scratches.

Then this morning I was playing some acdc, looked down and saw their was a chunk of him missing.

2 years old.

Anyone else get attached to their picks?

I still have my very first pick that's cracked in half. I figure if I get famous enough and spend all my money on drugs and alcohol I'll just put it up on ebay and make a quick hundred thousand.

Damn, I lose my picks way too quickly. But I own a Fender/Ford pick my sis bought me from a car show in America. It's on my wall, I'm afraid to use it.

I have a pick that Kerry King gave me, I don't use it, I just think it's cool to have. But, I do have a pick (purple Dunlop American 1.14mm) that I've been playing with for my entire playing lifetime.

I have loads of picks...it's like finding old friends when a particularly good one turns up

but there's no need to get quite that attached to them.

no, you gonna cut your finger off. what you do is what paul gilbert does. take your pick so the edge is on a house carpet. rub it on the carpet in 3 long rows, but be sure to dig in. repeat with the other side.

I go through picks like Lindsay Lohan goes through crack dealers.

Seriously, as soon as i stop using one, it seems to disappear.

Picks are like flounders, as soon as they hit the floor they change colouration to match their surroundings, that's why you lose so many.

Really? A pick doesn't last me more than a week before it's too worn down to play anymore :\

I went through my picks yesterday. I only use Dunlop 0.73's. I threw 12 of them because they were so worn.
