You can tell me what you think of this if you like, but what I really wanted to know was what do people think of war songs. This is not anti Iraq war or anything like that, it was something I noticed about people who go to war and I don't think its been mentioned before, well not that I've seen anyway.

What do people think the rules of war songs are? What does it take to write a good song about conflicts?

Bay Of Pigs

The gun lies steady on the table
In between Kings and rivals
Theres no peace in their eyes
Just the chance to make an impact

Leave it alone
It was just a Bay
Before the pigs came
And wrote the words

Ialerta ialerta

You can't hide in the mountains
The leaders will flush you out
They'll never leave this country
Because they will stand taller

We all know there names now
How can you miss them walking by
The empty intelligence of their eyes

Leave it alone
It was just a Bay
Before the pigs came
And wrote the words

Ialerta ialerta

The artists knows when he's done
Lifts his brow with his brush
Steps back and sees the climax
Fine

But they never leave it alone
It was just sand
Before the soldiers came
And wrote the words

Ialerta ialerta

Heres my chance to take control
Opportunity stands, I'm taking it
Heres my chance to shine
I'm taking it

A good song ends in tears
A smile fades across the drops
Here I die
Fine

pretty sure there is a song called "bay of pigs

Yeah? Who by?

I agree with you on the subtetly, i never liked songs that were blantantly saying something, or are very opinionated. I had hoped that this song wasn't too obvious. There are metaphors and different literay devices that signify different meanings, not just the classic, "war is bad". Its more of a conclusion that I came to that can cause wars.
