Im buying a Fender Standard P-bass sometime soon and cannot decide which colour looks best, and also, should I put on a black pickguard?
What do you think?

The standard colours are:
Black
Chrome Red
Midnight Wine
Arctic White
Electron Blue
2-colour Sunburst

Also, pictures of p-basses in the different colours are welcomed.
Thanks!

I DIG black precision basses with black pickguards. Especially if they have maple fingerboards. Also, the chrome covers make a great contrast, and they DONT get in the way, they make it EASIER to slap! Thats one common myth resolved!

I will post pics of mine when can find my camera.

White with black pickguard or black with white pickguard are they way to go.

Which makes me wonder why the **** i got the red.

2 tone sunburst > all. I have 2 instruments in that finish (1 per tone) and it looks fantastic.

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

sunburst and black scratchplate?

My one is black with a perspex scratchplate, which looks the same as the black scratchplate, but you can see the electronics.

midnight wine is very nice, the color that I have on my J.
black and white are even better, provided that the pickguard is either tortoiseshell or the same color as the body.

Just please dont go with that ugly blue

Nope, no sig here.

Choose the one that YOU think looks best. We don't know what colour you like best.

I dunno dudes - certain colours are kinda specific to the Standard series and IMO make them look a bit cheap:

Midnight Wine
Arctic White
Electron Blue.

They're primarily found on standard MIM basses.

get an old one that has the off whiteish color, like a dirty white, thats what mine looks like but its an 03 model, so you may have to do some looking if thats the way you decide you want to go.

Do you or anyone else know where I can get one of those?

Oh. And I'd say arctic white or a burst.
I like Fall Out Boy.
That is all.
