I need some nice easy calm soothing music to play when I'm in that indescribable mood. You don't need to know which it is, but I'm looking for something like Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd or Be Like That by Three Doors Down.

To those of you planning to say I Cum Blood by Cannibal Corpse, let it be known that you are not being funny or original and I have foiled your evil plot.

And for some reason, I really like Daft Punk. Hrm...

You lay me down as I go to the store
Sorrow ate me, I'm not me anymore
Play these heavens one more time
I'm not yours and I'm not mine

Download The Crimea's album Secrets of the Witching Hour free from their website. It's great, especially 'Light Brigade' and 'Several Thousand Years of Talking Nonsense' although you might not like his voice.

Slightly different genre from what you suggested, but Moon Safari, by Air is both a great and relaxing album.
...Bleep Bloop...

Everlong by the Foo Fighters

the acoustic version is more of what you're lookin' for.
I know exactly what I think I'm doing.

Definitely some of the spanish blues style like Santana or Los Lonely Boys. Reggae is great too, whether it be old jamaican or the new stuff that isn't jamaican but still nice. Garage- style music is great if you pick the right stuff like Pearl Jam or Blue Oyster Cult.
I totally love 80s, and if you do too just play some surf rock or pop from any band you can think of. Even "Metal Health" is somewhat relaxing.

My only other suggestion is to play the music that you like and what makes you feel mellow when you want that feeling. I know I'm only giving my ideas and other people are giving what they like, but your best bet is to find what you like and what you're willing to learn.

Acoustic version could also help.

indifference by pearl jam... i think there's an acoustic version of this with ben harper, so you could try that too.

Comfortably numb by pink floyd or under the bridge by rhcp.

The lack of City And Colour in this thread is somewhat disturbing.

Sometimes and Bring Me Your Love are amazing albums.

Watermark - Enya

And Variations on Canon - Johann Pachelbel (arranged by George Winston) always gets me. Especially this version:
