right, my friend was asking me today if i could recomend any guitars in the £200- £300 range.

He plays metal and aload of stuff which he has to drop the strings to but im not that big on his type of music e.g. AFI, Enter Shakari etc.

Could anyone advise my friend on what to get next? A good metal guitar which doesn't look ***t or have any tacky spikes and all that rubbish haha.

Cheers

The big question we have to ask first is, does he want a Floyd Rose?

Ibanez SZ

edit: Wait, just a whammy bar like vintage style?

In that case, Ibanez SA
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/ibanez-sas-32-fm/66751

...of course there are other options outside of Ibanez but.. I'm a fanboy

If he can settle for a string through, the white SZ is pure sex

And the whole Ibanez range from GAK just incase he wants different finishes etc. etc.

yah, thats a great choice

something from ibanez, esp or jackson, just check out their websites
alot of their guitars are geared towards metal players, and alot of them do play those brands

....basically you probably should get a super strat

or you could try an epiphone SG, those arent that bad either

Also, Schecter, Jackson and ESP come to mind with metal but idk about price ranges in the UK. Hopefully you don't get as rough a deal as we get when it comes to gear. Lucky yanks

How about these guitars:

Seymour Duncan loaded:

orrrr EMG loaded:

I've got to say, the X50 Pro is a sexy ass guitar.

Do you know what the X-200 is made out of? Cause when I see "solid-wood" body, I assume the worst And to TS those Washburns look like a better choice than the Ibanez because of the pickups, especially that X-50. HOT!

Haha nah, I can't seem to find out what it's made of...that is kinda offputting! So I'd only go for the X200 if you wanted the EMG loaded version.

The X50 is where it's at though, I think we can all agree there IMO, best guitar for the money.
