ok, so, alot of people have been telling me to get a Peavey Valve King. I need a half stack for gigs, and right now I have a Line 6 Spider III 75 watt 1x12. I'm using an EMG 81 in the bridge and EMG 89 in the neck. I'm playing heavy metal and shred.
Ibanez...and Tama drums...are the coolest.

eh, head and cab together, $1000, at most. And yeah, my band is playing at the place called Rocketown in downtown Nashville, where we live, and my Line 6 amp doesn't have a direct out, for the PA system, so I need something that can match my lead guitarist's Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier Solo 50.
Ibanez...and Tama drums...are the coolest.

You don't absolutely need a half-stack to gig. Buckethead used a combo amp during his Deli Creeps days. Just go with the Peavey Valve King Combo amp that Peavey has. It's pretty decent. Or you can try a Peavey 5150 Combo.

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?

I dunno. I was thinking of getting the Valve King head, and either a Marshall or Line 6 4x12 cab, because the Peavey cab that you can get with it for $900 in all, doesn't have celestions, and I want that kind of speaker. I don't like Peavey speakers, and Eminence speakers annoy me, I just don't like them.

you don't NEED a halfstack but you DO NEED some good wattage for ur situation if the places u play at don't have a PA system.

from what i've heard on here, the hybrid randalls are a good look. also used 5150 would prolly be right up your ally. combo of course. half stacks are generally better for headroom and i'm sure there's also some slight tone improvements to their combo counterparts, but not enough to justify the dramatic increase in price!!!

that's my two cent. i hope i was helpful

If that person wants a half stack let them get one. It offers more choice for tone so enough of the " " You might as well get ready to sig around 200 people btw.

He's talking about a cab, read.

TS- Going on your budget more than likely a halfstack isnt the way to go right now. You'll get better quality for money with a combo. Then when you have more of a budget upgrade to the half stack.

As for the combo I'll recomend the Peavey 5150. Beast of an amp.

There is plenty of good stuff used, especially in Nashville - or Memphis... You will get a lot more for your money.

all i'm saying is that if the guy refuses to post pics there must be a reason. and with the price lower than the norm for used 5150's, i'd say TRY IT FIRST. go see it in person. don't get scammed outta hard earned money1!

but i'm definitely not saying it's not a good deal.

Unless TS can play it I wouldnt advise it.

I wouldn't either. It is a localized site by city, you can search used stuff in your city and go try it out. It's basically a local online classified board. It's not like e-bay where cannot try it first. A lot of people post on that site as it's free, if that doesn't work then they post on e-bay.

For the price of a VK half stack you could get a way better combo.
