in my skool, theres this noise thts been going around.

its like a really high pitch tone and
supposedly, only kids can hear it, cuz its "so high"

so i took my friends phone, cuz he had it recorded there and i played it.

i clearly heard the tone, it was real high and pretty loud.

i took the phone and asked the bus aid on my bus and said
"do u hear this?"
i played the noise
and....she didnt hear anything!

so if anyone could xplain what it is
and where i could find it, thatd be great!

I couldn't hear it either. At my girlfriends house her brother-in-law had it on his phone, and I couldn't hear it at all. I was absolutely convinced they were just ****ing with me.

Basically as you get older you get deafer. The little hairs in your ear that pick up higher frequencies die off first. And for everyone who is "too young to not hear it". Turn your ****ing music down. Wouldn't you rather listen to music at lower volumes than not listen at all?
#23
i remember that... my friends an i used to play that on the my friend's cellphone to bother the people in my classroom... but we were all 16 and most of us could hear it
#25
I figured out I have the equivalent hearing of a normal 40 year-old. :]

I'm 26 and I hear them all except 22khz.

I've got a better one on my phone that goes up and down in pitch really slowly, so it gets everyone.

I love how you are all laughing about your apparent hearing loss at such a young age. Won't be laughing so hard in ten years.

Wow, I can just barely hear the 16khz and I'm 23. I showed my mom (51) and she can just barely hear the 10khz. Some of the kids that I work with have these things and I hate them.

The frequency response of one's ear tends to decrease with age.

It obviously happens to a varying degree from person to person.

When I first found out about it, I was using it to annoy my younger sister.
