Ok, so the band I was in broke up completely and I am thinking about selling my accoustic drum set(too loud, parents are getting annoyed and its not a real quality set) and buying an electronic kit for the time being.

Anyways, I would like to know if an Alesis DM5 Pro Kit is a nice set for its price.

Has anyone had any experience with one? Or could recommend a better set in the $500-$800 price range.

Thanks. =]

NOOOO don't get an electric drum set. There is no way too make an electric drumset too sound as good as a real drumset. It also looks and feels better playing on a real drumset rather then practice pads that make electric sounding drum nosies.

Don't get an electric set. They seem like a good idea, but just...sound bad.

You could get a MIDI kit and use it to trigger sounds on your computer. Roland make a good line I believe.
There is poetry in despair.
