oh but i'll go ahead and recommend what i have. G-400 (epi). 300 bones. versatile as hell. with a pup upgrade and going through a tube amp, you're gonna be set for anything. not to mention upper fret access is an extremely nice luxury.

aight i play metal hard rock and rock. i currently have a gorilla amp, and getting a new amp l8ter.

what guitar do you have now? i dont mean to bug ya w/ all the questions but it's vital for us to know whether ur suffering more from a mediocre amp (very much so) or mediocre guitar.

but yea i'd say get the amp FIRST and you'll be amazed at the difference in how good you'll sound!! i know gorilla amps are garbage.

and the SG would fit metal and hard rock almost perfectly. on the metal side it's not the fastest shredding neck but it depends on whether ur more of the riffing metal player or the crazy lead virtuoso metal player. if it's the latter, you might wanna look into an RG of some sort.

i apologize tdogg i just realized ur the one i'm recommending the blackheart to!!! yes, the SG will work wonderfully for you! you need humbuckers for ur style! if not then a les paul would work too, but the Epi G-400 is by far the best and most versatile in that price range. and i've never looked back .

Due to that fact, i REALLY suggest you get a new amp first.

you'd prolly be happier w/ the SG though. it really is nice quality. though there are a few lemons. bc rich is known for their low end guitars causing havock and regret all across the world of noob guitarists lol.

either that or get a USED les paul/SG. that's MY recommendation bro, so it's a lil biased, but i wouldn't recommend u garbage!!!

any reason why not? hey it's UR guitar so yea you get whatever catches YOU the most. but in THAT price range there's not many guitars that are really good in quality.
