so after a few months of owning it now, i realize that i don't like my dunlop original gcb-95 crybaby wah very much, it's too weak, it hides behind the distortion from my amp

i'm looking at getting a new wah pedal, possibly one that won't be overridden by my amp's distortion, but also one with another range of tones

i'm mainly aiming for a balance between a john frusciante and tom morello tone, my crybaby would be OK for morello sounding stuff, but it doesn't get the power of frusciante's wah tone

and i don't know where to find a wh-10 that would not be on ebay either...

any suggestions?

i've heard good things about vox, and the weeping demon. any other suggestions?

theres a lot of ways to customize a crybaby, and u can prolly do it cheaper and sound better to what you need..

Dude, I like how your crybaby sounds.

Dunlop JH-1 FTW!

yeah, it sounded alright in front of my vox and after my ds-1, but it sounds droning through my V3's distortion channels, i hear more distortion than i do wah, and i want wah tone on my distortion, not distortion killing my wah

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?

try morleys when buying i tried it against a dunlop and a vox and it didnt have the same wah sound but i prefered it and it works nice with my multi effects distortion but not so well with the amp distortion, but i blame the amp for that

It's a stab in the dark, but see if you can try that Gig-FX wah. Can't remember what it's called but people seem to like the sound of it.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?

have you tried switching the position of your wah? if you put it after your distortion pedal in your cahin you'll get more wah...that way its the wah pedal modding the sound of the distorion, not distorion over wah.

if you can, try adjusting the mids of your wah pedal by swapping out the 1.5K resistor with 2K or 2.5K. i have not tried this but i can if you would like. in theory this should work because distortion is primarily around 3Khz (is it not?), so by boosting your mids you would be boosting the 3Khz output of your pedal
