I have a Schecter Damien 6 and I absolutely love it. I got it about a year ago. I love how I can do some pretty nice pinch harmonics and what not with the pickups (EMGH4s) but I've been looking into putting an EMG60 at the neck and an EMG81 at the bridge.

I'm looking to achieve a really fat, crunchy rhythm tone, that I can solo with, should I need to. I'm a rhythm guitarist anyway.

What will that pickup combination result in?

Depends what amp you have.

A low end solid state amp will cause any decent pickup to sound like every other. Nicer amps will let the nuances shine through.

That being said, I've also been looking into a Mesa Dual Rectifier.

I assume using my Line6 GuitarPort will make it sound like any other modeled guitar?

Bliss, I think, is the general term. I doubt you could do better than Mesa with EMGs.
