What would I have to do to install a trem on a tune-o-matic bridge guitar? I have the kind with a tailpiece.
If you think things can't get worse it's probably only because you lack sufficient imagination.

bust out a router and fvck it up, then throw the guitar out and buy one with a trem.

Seriously though,If it is an ax over $800 take it to a luthier.
I am a cabinet builder with 15 years experience with routers and I wouldnt touch any of my guitars with my routers. spacing, depth distance to the bridge pup are all critical dimensions for proper playability and intonation. If it is a cheap ax and don't really care about it, reasearch the hell out of it first, get your numbers down to the millimeter and pray for atleast 3 hours before hitting that on switch.

BTW mods move this to gear building and cust.
