I'm starting to play guitar
after three years of bass
to help me write songs and just be able too play more than one instrument

what tips can you give me to help
and also some oppinions on songs to start off with

learn scales and most of all practise.

Get the best guitar you can afford and a decent little amp.

Learn the basics properly before moving on.

Start off with a guitar teacher if you can afford it, this is the best way and will help you to start off on the right foot, helping you avoid bad habits that may come back to haunt you later.

failing that get a decent book to work through.

and for guitars get a squier tele (no strats if there low range) or some cheap ibanez (Nothing with a locking trem )

As a amp get a cube DON"T get a MG or a SPider For god's sake

i already got me an epiphone les paul
172 bucks(au Dollars)

probs not a very good guitar but itll do
PLUS
i couldnt afford an amp

so i have to put it through my bass
sounds alright
but in a couple of weeks ill have like a 10-15 watt amp
something i can afford
no marshalls unfortunately

they're ok but get a Roland cube amp they're the best in their price range and then as soon as you can upgrade your Gtar
