He sat by the ledge.
Quietly watching the breeze;
Unseen in all but its effects,
Brushing against stray leaves.

He took a deep breath.

And laughed.

Tonight of all nights.
As the moon lay clouded beyond sight.
He lets the paper drop from his hand.
Watches it float gently to the ground.

He picks up his phone
Ties up his life
Locks the door
And flies.

Out the window
Towards the clouded moon
As the paper before him.
Floating gently to the ground.
