Ok, so heres a question. I wanna know (in the public's opinion..) what the best sounding electric guitar for playing heavy metal, death metal, ect. with is, and at a reasonable price range too. Ive been using a Squier for awhile.. like 6 years, and i think its time to upgrade. Oh and, best pickups and strings and whatnot too? (All at a reasonable price range.. haha)

Get a 7-String if you want really brutal stuff.
EMG 81, or the Dimarzio X2N for the bridge, then the EMG 85 or like...Dimarzio Breed for the neck.

Amp makes a huge difference, too.

If you want a good sound, you'll have to spend a fair bit.

ok, ive done a bit of research, and came to some conclusions.. How would an ESP V-200 w/ EMG 81/85 pickups and Zakk Wylde Custom Boomers sound?

Take a look at an ESP LTD EC-500 or the EC-1000, EMG 81/60 pickups.

The 500 Runs around $500 - $750 bucks, depending on what you buy. It's a good deal considering what it is.

The EC 200 isn't all that good, it was agathis (which isn't a great tonewood at all). Now it's basswood which is better but I haven't heard much buzz about it.

THe 500 is sweet though, it's all mohagany and ebony.
