yeah so UG lets hear yours, mine are

Sweet emotion by Aerosmith that riff after the intro and also the one in Walk This Way

It's not over yet- The Klaxons

Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You- Spinal Tap

and a million Silverchair riffs...

I almost forgot the riff that plays during the chorus of Weak and Powerless by A Perfect Circle, its kind of hard to hear at first listen but the more I listen the more I like!

I was thinking the same thing, how in the hell is that song so unknown compared to the rest of ac/dc's material?

That riff Stillwater were playing on stage when the guitarist got electrocuted in Almost Famous. That was a bloody good riff.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

Also In Flames have awesome riffs like Trigger, Pinball Map, or Eye of the Beholder.

Also Kalmah, like Hades or Heroes to us

I play the beginning, and the chorus way too much.

Maybe it's because I can't play the solo...

Are you aware that this song is actually a cover?

Towards the thread though, I think alot of dance song riffs are underappreciated.

For example, Moloko's Sing It Back To Me is such a fun melody to perform.

nope sorry wasnt aware it was a cover, I just love the cutting sound of the riff dont you? and I agree with the dance songs riffs thing I mean many of them wouldnt be out of place if you transferred them over to a guitar

Anything written by Emperor. Ever.

Also, most of the lead guitar stuff in Gorgoroth's "Gorgoroth", and the intro riff to Ihsahn's "And He Shall Walk in Empty Places".

Intension by Tool at the 3 minutes and 51 seconds mark, that riff is pretty simple but incredibly effective It's the only riff I've managed to consistently play for about an hour just lying in my room because its that good!
