i'm looking to get a new amp. i'm big into all kinds of metal (black dahlia murder, pantera, behemoth, children of bodom, etc.) and i can't afford anything like a bogner uberschall stack so i found this. i mainly use pedals for my distortion because i have a crappy 10 watt Johnson amp. people tell me that if i get a better amp, it will help my tone alot. i'm gonna get a schecter gryphon once i get money for a new guitar. is this a good amp?

Keep looking. That amp does not suit what you're playing, plus it doesn't sound all that great. How much are you looking to spend?

$350 at most. that is also why i'm getting the gryphon. it's not that expensive. i don't have alot of money. i would love to get a 1500 dollar stack but i really can't

Are you playing with a band or jamming with friends often? If not, save up a little bit more and you'll have better amps to choose from. I made a Squier Strat and a crappy 30 watt Crate amp work for years until I could start to pay for my own gear. Don't settle for crap, it's not worth it in the long run.

For like $50 more you could get a Peavey Valveking. If not look into the Roland Cube.

For the price it's good. If you don't jam with anybody, you could probably do with the Cube 30 too. A Valveking + an overdrive (you'd need that for heavy heavy metal) would be better, albeit much more expensive. Or possibly something like a Randall RG50TC or B-52 AT112.
