Close to it. He was a damn good song writer. I for one enjoy the Dolls and the Heartbreakers more than his solo work though. Something about the band environment just really clicked with him.

Don't get me wrong, I like Johnny Thunders very much, and he was very good, but he wasn't anywhere near being the creative force he is viewed as being.
