i brought a kit for making a 200w power amp.
now ive got to the stage where i need to buy a speaker, but im not too sure what im looking for, this amp suports an 8 ohm load but i can only see speakers that are 8 ohms but only 100 watts.
is it essential that i get a 200w speaker for this amp or could a 100w speaker work

get 2 100 watt apeakers. depending if its a guitar power amp or a general PA system you have to look into what speakers will sound best with what it will be used for.
Amps:
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier
Epiphone Valve Standard
Epiphone Valve Junior
B-52 st-100
Guitars:
Greco 1980 LP black beauty 3 pickup, emg 81TW, 81, 85

4 50w speakers

4 30w speakers, speakers can usually handle double the watts they are designed for

No. Some speakers will handle more power than they are rated for, but definitely not all, and definitely not 200%.
