As mentioned above, what's really the difference between these three types of pedals? And let's say I want a pedal for 80's metal what type of pedal is best?

I found out the difference between dist/od but nothing with fuzz..

EDIT: Wikipedia ftw

So should I go for dist pedal or fuzz pedals if I wanted metal sound?
