I am a relatively new guitarist so im srry if this is a stupid question but...

It seems that the chord F#m is appearing alot in some of the more advanced songs ive seen (advanced for me, dont be a hater). If anyone knows a good substitute or has a good tip for playing i'm all ears.

thanks!

hmm....you mean the barre chord f#m? It's not that hard, but there aren't really a whole lot of variations on it. Go here: chordfind.com
it will help you find different ways of playing the same chord.

the notes in F#m are:

F#
A
C#

if your really cant play barre chords, wich would be the easiest and best way to play the chord..

i suggest this

e-2-
b-2-
g-2-

but seriously, just practice barring, itll get easier

They're the most useful of all the chords. Of course this depends on what you play.
