no not at all, and sometimes its okay to put a sticker on a guitar if its a **** guitar and a meaningful sticker. for example; i put an anti-abortion sticker on my old crap bass that i barely ever use. this is perfectly acceptable.

depends on the button, if it is like a smal hines pickle i'd go with it, but if it was like "NO FAT CHICKS" or something I would avoid it.
Out here you've gotta know where your towel is!

no, retard

to pick stickers on a guitar, the actual sticker has an adhesive that makes it stay on the guitar, while a button, you could say, goes through the strap....

but in all seriousness, if you over-do it, yes

I like my guitar straps to be black and bare so they don't distract from the guitar's beauty. Anway, I think they're more acceptable since they're not as permanent.

personally I think there are two answers, I mean music is about expression, so making your strap/case/guitar/folder/whatever have something on it that is meaningful can be really rewarding and make it a little more "you". but then again, I think what you put on can make you look really unprofessional, I know that I am just starting and I am always afraid that I am gonna look like a complete moron in front of friends who are really talented and knowledgeable.

You don't need buttons on your guitar strap. Just get a classy strap.

some of cobain's guitars had funny stickers ie."vandalism:as beautiful as a rock in a cop's face" and on his acoustic he had one that said "nixon now", stickers can be cool sometimes

I was gonna say 'Yeah, its fine, express yourself.'

BUT

You're not expressing yourself. You're following trends. The worst trends imaginable.

This is not ok.

I have a completely black Jackson RX10D (the Flying V shape with the short bit, like alexi laiho's) with a ghostbusters sticker (black background) on it, it looks nice.

I have a button on a strap I rarely use...
and stickers on my case.

My brother made collages on his acoustics!

No way, neither are lame, it all depends on taste - if you like it and it makes your guitar feel more personal to you then go ahead with either. I for one have a kick-ass old-timey sheriff's badge on my strap, which I realise straddles the line between cool and gay, but personally i'm convinced it rocks. My main point is, badges/buttons can make a cheap strap look good, and saves you shelving out money on an expensive strap.

Don't you ever say Collin is wrong.

I happen to like pop-punk and emo and I put about 4-5 buttons on my strap. There's absolutely nothing wrong with putting them on no matter what music you like or play.
